Making it easier to stay stuck with Microsoft 365's Cortana

With recent events leading to the biggest work-from-home shift in the world, we could all use some help to stay caught up in the work while juggling personal responsibilities. We have updates available starting today with Cortana, your personal Microsoft 365 productivity assistant, to make it easier to get time back into your busy schedule and focus on what matters.

Stay on track with Cortana in Windows 10

We're launching a new chat-based Cortana experience in Windows 10 focused on improving your productivity to help you save time in finding what you need and staying focused. With this, you can ask Cortana to quickly check your schedule, connect with people, set reminders, or add Microsoft To-Do tasks using natural language. As an optional connected service to Cortana, you can also find local content, get definitions, and keep track of the latest news, weather, and finance updates with Bing. Only type or press the microphone button, and talk commands like "I'm free at 9?" "Find time to discuss the budget with Nestor," "Join my meeting," "Remind me to check expenditures at 3 PM every Friday," and more. With the Windows 10 May 2020 update, this productivity-focused experience is now generally available in English for customers in the USA. With daily app updates via the Microsoft Store in the coming months, we will improve this experience to support wake word invocation and allow listening when you say "Cortana," give more collaboration capabilities to help you prepare for meetings, such as surfing-related emails and documents, and extend supported functionality for international users.

Keep organized and linked with Play My Emails 

 We 're rolling out updates to the Play My Emails experience in Outlook for iOS to help you control your time and tasks while listening to new emails and improvements to your day. In response to an email, you can now ask Cortana to arrange a meeting and add an email to your task list, making it easier to get things done when away from your phone. We have also introduced voice commands and touch targets to send responses to invitations, as well as an option to quickly join an active online meeting or send participants a message about "I'm running late." Such new job and time management updates are now generally available with Play My Emails in Outlook for iOS for US customers in general. And, we 're excited to announce that in the coming weeks, Play My Emails will begin rolling out in Outlook for Android.

Start your day on track with the Briefing email 

We're launching the latest Cortana Briefing email to help you get well organized for upcoming meetings and stay on top of commitments.  This custom brief will automatically appear in your Outlook inbox near the beginning of your workday, providing smart, actionable document recommendations for you to review ahead of the day's meetings and draw your attention to pending requests or commitments from previous emails that you may want to follow up on. This email will also make it easy for you to reserve "focus time" for uninterrupted focused working with silenced notifications from Microsoft Teams during your workday. Briefing for Microsoft 365 Enterprise users with Exchange Online mailboxes in English is currently being rolling out in First Release.
