How To Know About The Process Of Configuring RR Com Email With MS Outlook 2016?

A Roadrunner email login page can be used with an email client as well. When it comes to email clients, there are dozens of options that you can find on the web. Out of all the email clients, MS Outlook is among the top email client that you can use.

You need to configure your Roadrunner email login page with MS Outlook in order to use it on the platform without any issue. However, before you could do that, you need to make sure that you have installed MS Outlook 2016 version on your computer.

Step 1: Add or Edit Email Account

  1. Click the ‘File’ tab and then, click ‘Add Account’ to set up a new email account.
  2. If your RR email is already listed, then click ‘Account Settings’ and then, click ‘Set up more connections’ or ‘Change Settings for this Account’ option. You don’t have to perform steps 2 and 3.

Step 2: Set up a new email account manually

  1. There will be an option labeled as ‘manual setup or additional server types’, so you need to select the radio button corresponding to that option.
  2. Then, click ‘Next’.

Step 3: Select email account type

  1. Enable ‘IMAP’ or ‘POP’ option by selecting the radio button corresponding to option.
  2. Click ‘Next’.

Step 4: Change current email account

  1. In case, Roadrunner email account has already been added and configured, then you will have to click that account and then, click the ‘Change’ button.

Make sure to backup all the data before you delete the email account from MS Outlook. Taking backup becomes even more important if you are have configured the email using the POP server type.

Step 5: Configure general settings of email account

  1. Type in your name that you want your contacts to see after they receive emails from you.
  2. Enter your Roadrunner email address.
  3. Select IMAP or POP3 in the ‘Account Type’. If you are looking to sync your email across different devices, then select ‘IMAP’.

Incoming mail server

  1. Enter ‘mail.yourdomainname.com' when using standard settings (non-SSL).
  2. Enter ‘host.yourdomainname.com’ when using secure settings (SSL).

Outgoing mail server (SMTP)

  1. Enter ‘mail.yourdomainname.com’ if using standard settings (non-SSL).
  2. Use ‘host.yourdomainname.com’ if using secure settings (SSL).

Username: Type in your Roadrunner email login page ID

Password: Enter www.roadrunner.com password

Keep in mind to uncheck ‘require logon using SPA (Secure Password Authentication) option.

 Step 6: Configure Outgoing Email Server Settings

  1. Click ‘More Settings’ and then ‘Outgoing Server’ tab.
  2. Check the option labeled, ‘SMTP requires authentication’.
  3. Enable ‘Use same settings as my incoming mail server’.
  4. Disable ‘log onto incoming email server’ prior to sending an email. Enable this option only if you have configured Roadrunner email login page using POP3.
  5. Select the ‘Advanced’ tab and then, ‘more settings’ window.

 Step 7: Configure Ports & Encryption

For IMAP:

  1. Incoming server (IMAP): 993 for SSL/TLS and Port 143 for non-SSL.
  2. Use the following type of encrypted connection: Select ‘TLS’ for SSL/TLS and select ‘None’ for non-SSL.
  3. Outgoing Server (SMTP): Enter 465 for SSL/TLS and ‘587’ or ‘25’ for non-SSL.
  4. Use the following type of encrypted connection: Use ‘TLS’ for SSL/TLS and use ‘None’ for non-SSL.

Step 8: Test the Settings

When you think you’ve performed all the steps correctly, it’s time to send a test mail from your Roadrunner email login page ID configured with MS Outlook. If you are able to receive email on your other email account, then it means the email account has been configured properly.
